The Seven Deadly Sins in Science Fiction

Published by hvlong at 5:00 am under General Edit This

So during my usual perusal of the news, I found this great article about exploring religious themes, spirituality and morals in modern science fiction.  The seven deadly sins of course include pride, gluttony, lust, greed, sloth, wrath and envy.  I think exploring spiritual themes in science fiction is laudable and that sometimes, it’s laughable (sorry, the Matrix should have stopped at movie number one, by movie number 3, I was just laughing at the heavy handed mallet bashing the ideas home).

Check out the article and let me know your favorite sins in science fiction.

I’ll startus off, my favorite is the false religious icon (Pride).  We see that play out in Stargate whether dealing with the G’oauld or with the worship the Stargate team members earn when they come through the “Ring of the Gods”,  the “Chappa-eye” or as we all affectionately think of it, the Stargate.

What about you?
